President Trump Submits 2nd Proposal for ‘Irish Wall’, Ocean Lovers Take Action

#NatureTrumpedWalls

The Inertia

In November 2016, Save The Waves Coalition and it’s Irish partners scored an important win. Togetherthey successfully blocked then President Elect Donald Trump’s original plan for a three kilometer seawall, designed to protect his luxury golf course from sea-level rise-related coastal erosion. I do not want to digress too much but we can all see the irony of needing this seawall if you don’t even believe in climate change. Another fight for another day, perhaps.

The Trump organization has since submitted a scaled-back proposal for the wall that still poses a significant environmental threat. The Save The Waves Coalition, not a stranger to this battle, is planning on delivering thousands of certified letters urging the Clare County Councilors to reject the proposal on February 2, 2017.

This is where you, the reader, can have a crack at defeating a Trump Wall. If you recall, when they called on our help the last time, the movement caught the attention of hundreds of thousands of people across the world and gathered over 100,000 signatures against the seawall. Now, they need you to sign an objection letter.

The objection letter that thousands will send to the council can be found here – Click, Sign it, Send it. It’s that easy.

Save The Waves Coalition is building off an unprecedented success by halting the first attempt at building this unnecessary seawall. I think we can all agree, we need these wave savers around. So, after you have signed the letter, you can keep making an impact by charging $35 bucks to your credit card and becoming a member of the Save The Waves Coalition. Benefits will be an immediate increase of surfing ability by 25% and discounts at Bureo Skateboards, Surfline, Indosole, Peak Designs, Sunski Sunglasses and XTR Surfboards.

Thanks for reading and for being a part of the movement.
Onwards,

William Rinehart
